Laurel Creek hike, Sunday morning early May

Sunday May 4, 2014 dawned bright and clear. I enjoyed an early morning cruise, just a 10 minute drive away from home, to find one of the best places for hiking and enjoying nature in the city. Both Laurel Creek Conservation Area and Laurel Creek Nature Centre, located in northwest Waterloo, offer trails and other outdoor fun. I’m in it for the trails!

Walking the leafless paths, some greenery provided by cedar and pine, recently freed from winter snow and ice, both energized and relaxed me. With camera in hand, on a sunny, but cool morning, I was delighted by the variety of the nature centre. Can’t wait to come back in the summer to enjoy all of the trees – so many in various stages of growth.

I hope you enjoy these pics and if you have the opportunity, check the sites out in person:

My next blog is a mystery – I haven’t been there yet!

Happy travels and safe journeys to you.
